My name is Twink and I enjoy watercolor painting, then turning those paintings into notecards. My notecards reflect the things I value: relationships, personal expression, and the colorful beauty of the world around us. Frequently I paint from my own photographs. All my life, I have drawn or designed the cards I send. I find writing a letter to be an intimate way of sharing myself with someone. Relationships matter. A letter or a birthday card is a personal communication that can express admiration, respect, empathy, gratitude, silliness or joyfulness. Sometimes I may paint something whimsical which cries out to strike funny bones; many times it’s a delicate drawing to send a tender message. My hope is that my paintings impart a feeling of intimacy. Then you can write your own words inside. When you open a greeting card, does it mean more to you when the sender has written down his or her own thoughts for you to read, absorb, and reread? You know, with an ink pen? The gift of our time and thought is really all we have to give. Letters and cards help us tend to our important relationships. |
